Thin corneas and strong prescriptions rule out laser for many people. EVO ICL corrects your vision with a thin lens placed behind your iris, and no corneal tissue is removed.
Your day starts with finding your glasses and ends with dry contacts. Somewhere in between, you may have been told LASIK isn’t an option.
With a strong prescription, you can’t read your phone or find the door until your glasses are on. Travel and late-night wake-ups start with a search.
Years of wear can leave your eyes drier and less tolerant of lenses. Sleeping in them raises the risk of infection.
Toric and high-power contacts often cost more than standard ones, and so do the thinner lenses strong glasses need. You pay again with every new prescription.
EVO ICL handles all three with a lens you never have to clean or take out. Financing turns it into a monthly payment.
About 20 minutes, no obligation.
EVO treats nearsightedness from -3 to -20, with or without astigmatism. In a 19-practice US study, it was the most-performed procedure for prescriptions of -8 and stronger.
EVO adds a thin lens behind your iris and takes no tissue from your cornea. Thin corneas aren't a barrier, and a surgeon can remove the lens later if needed.
Because EVO doesn't reshape the cornea, it's less likely to cause the dry eye that can follow laser surgery. That matters if contacts already leave you dry.
About 20 minutes per eye, with numbing drops and light sedation. Most patients have functional vision the next day.

EVO is one of several ways to stop wearing glasses and contacts. Amir Moarefi, MD reviews your corneas and the space inside your eye, then tells you which one fits and why.
The same lens with astigmatism correction built in, so one procedure handles both.
If your corneas are thick enough and your prescription is moderate, laser may be the simpler choice.
If reading up close is getting harder too, replacing your natural lens can correct distance and reading in one procedure.
Dr. Moarefi will tell you straight.
Dr. Moarefi trained in lens implant surgery. He was the first fellow in the Cleveland Eye Clinic’s refractive surgery fellowship, which centers on advanced lens implants. The program is now one of the most applied-to in the country. He’s certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and still runs every consultation himself.
Before he recommends EVO, he’ll go over your eye measurements and ask how you work and what you do on weekends. If EVO isn’t the right fit, he’ll say so and tell you what is.

Spread the cost of EVO into monthly payments, and put what you spend on contacts toward it.
Your EVO consultation answers three questions: does the lens fit your eye, which version suits your prescription, and what should you honestly expect? No quotas. No hard sell. If EVO isn’t right for you, we’ll tell you.
Dr. Moarefi goes over your measurements and options with you in person.

A thin, flexible lens that sits behind your iris, in front of your natural lens. It’s made of Collamer, a soft material that contains collagen, and it’s been FDA-approved since 2022. You can’t see it or feel it, and there’s nothing to clean.
LASIK reshapes the cornea by removing tissue, so it needs a cornea thick enough to work with. Strong prescriptions and thin corneas can rule it out. EVO corrects your vision with a lens and leaves corneal tissue in place. If LASIK suits your eyes better, you’ll hear that at your consultation.
Numbing drops and light sedation keep you comfortable, and most people feel only mild pressure. Each eye takes about 20 minutes.
Most patients have functional vision the next day and are back at work within 24 to 48 hours. We usually treat one eye at a time, a few days to a week apart.
Yes. A surgeon can remove or replace it if your eyes change, and it comes out if you need cataract surgery later in life. Most people keep it for good.
If you’re between 21 and 60, nearsighted with or without astigmatism, and your prescription has held steady for a year, there’s a good chance. Thin corneas don’t rule you out. Your consultation confirms it by measuring the space inside your eye.
Your price depends on your prescription and whether you need the astigmatism version, so we give you one all-in quote at your consultation. Financing is available through CareCredit and Alphaeon Credit, and we accept HSA and FSA dollars. For an estimate now, the price quote tool takes about two minutes.
EVO is elective, so insurance usually doesn’t cover it. You can use HSA and FSA dollars.
No. Your EVO consultation is free, including the measurements that show whether the lens fits your eye.
See whether you are a candidate, or find out what it costs. Both take about two minutes, and neither commits you to anything.
